Chilled Kharbuja (Cantaloupe) Summer Pops

A highly hydrating, low-calorie summer treat made with fresh Indian cantaloupe and curd.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ripe Cantaloupe (Kharbuja) cubes, seeds and rind removed
  • 1/2 cup fresh, plain unsweetened Curd (yogurt)
  • 1 tsp Honey (optional)

Verification

Cantaloupe is highly hydrating (over 90% water) and packed with vitamins A and C. Curd provides gut-friendly probiotics. Very easy on Shiro's tummy, and he loves the sweet melon scent.

Shiro's Method

Ensure all cantaloupe seeds and the hard rind are completely removed, as seeds can cause blockages.

Blend the cantaloupe cubes until you get a smooth puree.

Whisk in the plain curd and honey until smooth.

Pour into silicone molds or ice trays.

Freeze for 4-6 hours until solid.

Serve one pop as a cooling reward after a short evening walk.

Storage

Keep in an airtight bag in the freezer for up to 1 month.

1-2 pops per day for large dogs
