Shiro's Golden Turmeric Milk (Haldi Doodh)
“The ultimate natural anti-inflammatory drink for dogs, especially seniors or those with joint stiffness.”
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Goat's Milk or Coconut Milk (easier to digest than cow's milk)
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder (high curcumin if possible)
- A tiny pinch of Black Pepper (essential to activate turmeric)
- 1/4 tsp Virgin Coconut Oil
Health Notes
Verification
“Coconut oil and pepper help the body absorb the curcumin in turmeric. We started giving this to Shiro after he had a small limp, and his recovery was noticeably smoother.”
Perfect For
Excellent for Seniors, safe for all Adults
Shiro's Method
Gently warm the milk in a small pot—do not let it boil.
Whisk in the turmeric, pepper, and coconut oil until the milk is a beautiful bright gold.
Let it cool until it's just lukewarm to the touch.
Serve as a night-time treat to help with sleep and joint recovery.
If your dog is new to turmeric, start with half the amount to ensure no tummy upset.
Storage
Best served fresh. Can be kept in the fridge for 24 hours.
Serving Amount
1/4 to 1/2 cup depending on size
