Minty Fresh Yogurt Lick Mat

A simple, cooling lick mat recipe using cucumber, mint, and yogurt to help with hot weather hydration and fresh dog breath.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup thick greek yogurt or fresh curd
  • 1/4 cup finely grated cucumber (squeeze out excess water)
  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves (finely chopped or pureed)
  • 1 tsp honey (optional, raw and organic)

Health Notes

Verification

Very cooling and soothing on the gut. Cucumber adds fantastic hydration, while mint acts as a natural breath freshener. Greek yogurt is concentrated and easy to spread.

Perfect For

All ages (Puppy to Senior)

Shiro's Method

1

Grate the cucumber and squeeze out the excess water to avoid making the mix too runny.

2

Finely chop or puree the fresh mint leaves (mint is excellent for digestion and fresh breath, but keep the quantity moderate).

3

In a bowl, mix the greek yogurt, grated cucumber, mint, and honey until well combined.

4

Spread the mixture evenly over a textured dog lick mat, pressing it into all the grooves.

5

Optional: Freeze the lick mat for 15-20 minutes to make the licking session last twice as long.

6

Serve to your dog during a hot afternoon or a stressful zoom call for a calming, refreshing activity.

Storage

Best served fresh. If frozen, can be kept wrapped in foil in the freezer for up to 3 days.

Serving Amount

One medium-sized lick mat
